Easter brunch kids party

Good morning friends and happy new week!

How was your weekend? Ours was busy but very fun: on Saturday we had an event at Aurora`s school: pancake breakfast and book fair, she was so excited, she was so proud to show us and her brothers her school, the cafeteria and all the places around (even though we already saw it many times!). On Sunday we had an Easter brunch at our house with the kids` friends. We had 6 girls from Aurora`s class and three boys from Alessandro and Leonardo`s daycare. As soon as I started organizing the brunch for Aurora and her friends and started talking about it,  Leonardo told me that he wanted to have his friends too (and I thought he was right), so we extended the party to the little ones.

We had a nice brunch sitting at the table: lately I started setting the table for the kids, so that they will have to sit down in order to eat, which I like much better than seeing them running past the food and grabbing things to nibble on the go! I love to see the kids sitting down and eating in sort of a quiet way! We prepared pancakes (regular and chocolate), scrambled eggs, bacon (always a hit, all the kids loved it!!), mixed fruit and a tart (which nobody ate because everyone was eating their candies from the egg hunt)! I also made chocolate muffins that everyone could decorate with frosting (I have to admit that I didn`t buy the frosting, I bought it, not very supermom!!). I had the muffin decorating idea for the girls Valentine`s day party and they loved it, so we did it again this time and they enjoyed it a lot again, it was very cute to see the girls decorating their cupcakes and then save them to show them to the members of their family!

After the kids ate, we did an Easter egg hunt. I planned to do it outside, but it was too cold and the yard was covered in snow, so we decided to stay indoors. It was so fun to see the kids running around looking for the eggs, they enjoyed it a lot and found a lot of candies and little presents.

In order to prepare the egg hunt, I got a lot of colored plastic eggs which we filled with candies and little prizes that I got at Target, Michaels and Party City. They were mainly erasers with bunny or carrot shapes, small crayons, little stamps and plastic figurines. The best thing was that Aurora is old enough to help me in the preparation now, so she helped me filling the eggs and we got to spend some time together. She never talks too much about school, her friends and what she does during the day, so I feel that doing things together helps her to open up a little more. She also helped me with the party favors: I got some very cute bunny bags at Home Goods and we filled them with sidewalk chalk (I got these amazing packages of 4 chalks at Michaels), bubbles and little water games, which I picked because they reminded me of when I was little and used to play with them!

As for the decorations, I didn`t get too crazy: I got some banners at Target and Party city, (I also found an adorable Peter Rabbit Easter one at Home goods), some balloons at the grocery store and some eggs and bunny decorations to hang on the ceiling at Party city again. I also bought some Peter Rabbit egg hunt signs to place in the yard, but we couldn`t use them because of the weather (I found them at Home Goods too but you can still find them on Amazon).

As you know, I love to organize parties, one of the reasons is that I like to know the kids` friends and I like the fact that the kids know us and our house, so when I meet them, especially at Aurora`s school, I will be able to greet them by name and they are happy to say hello to me. We also like to think that when the kids are going to be older, they will like to hang out at our house with their friends, so they will have fun here and we can keep an eye on them! I am not sure if this is going to happen, but it is kind of a dream!

This is all for today my friends, I will meet you here on Friday, have a great week!
