Easy Easter recipe

Good morning friends and happy Friday!

How is your week going, are your kids at home today? Aurora is and I am trying to squish in some work while she entertains herself. She is pretty good, but she will come to my office a thousand times to show me what she is doing! We will go out in a few minutes, so we can spend some time together!

Easter is getting close, have you decided what you are going to cook? We will have some friends with their kids over at our house, so I thought I would share with you the recipe for some tomato muffins today. They are a great idea for an appetizer for Easter, very easy to make and the kids should eat them too. I have to say that I tried to make these muffins yesterday, I liked them a lot, but the kids didn`t, they did not enjoy the tomatoes NOR the olives (they are Italian, why wouldn`t they like olives??). Anyway, I will change the recipe a little for Easter and make some with hot dogs inside for the kids, I am sure they will devour them!

Easter brunch kids party

Good morning friends and happy new week!

How was your weekend? Ours was busy but very fun: on Saturday we had an event at Aurora`s school: pancake breakfast and book fair, she was so excited, she was so proud to show us and her brothers her school, the cafeteria and all the places around (even though we already saw it many times!). On Sunday we had an Easter brunch at our house with the kids` friends. We had 6 girls from Aurora`s class and three boys from Alessandro and Leonardo`s daycare. As soon as I started organizing the brunch for Aurora and her friends and started talking about it,  Leonardo told me that he wanted to have his friends too (and I thought he was right), so we extended the party to the little ones.

Cute Spring dresses for Easter

Hello my friends, happy Friday and happy Spring!

It feels strange to me to think that it is already Spring, since we are in a Winter wonderland here and  it looks like we are still in the middle of what feels like the longest Winter ever  in New England (I feel like we say the same thing every year though, right?) We had a snowstorm on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, but luckily it looks like we didn`t get as much snow as they expected.

Everyone feels like it is time for warmer weather, flowers, flowy dresses and birds chirping happily, so I decided to write a post about Spring dresses that would be perfect for Easter, but also any occasion when the weather is nice and warm.

Easter baskets ideas

Good morning my friends and happy Tuesday!

I want to apologize for not having a post ready last Friday, but I planned to write it and then the snowstorm came, the kids were home for two days, the following day I had a lot of work, so I wasn`t able to set aside some time to write. But today I want to talk to you about Easter baskets! I love this tradition especially because in Italy we don`t do Easter baskets, neither do we have the Easter bunny. What happens is that we buy big chocolate eggs for all the kids in the family and we open them on Easter morning. Each egg has a little toy surprise inside, so the fun thing is to collect as many chocolate eggs as possible and then open them hoping that there will be a fun toy to play with! I remember as a kid receiving eggs from my grandparents and aunts and uncles, eating a lot of chocolate, but having so much chocolate left overs that my mom didn`t even know what to do with them! She usually ended up making chocolate cakes or chocolate budino (something like a pudding).

How to survive a snowstorm at home with kids

Good morning friends and happy beginning of a new week!

I hope this one will not be too tough, but a snow storm is coming our way and a lot of snow is predicted: this is New England: snow until April and then we will be able to get our Spring in May…

Since it looks like the snow days with schools closed will last for a little longer, I thought about writing a post about some tips to make snow days go by a little faster with little ones. When a storm hits us, the school are closed, the weather is not really nice outside, it is not possible to drive around and do fun things, so the only possibility is to stay at home and play. Here are some hacks to keep mom`s sanity.

Friday favorites and organization tips

Good morning friends and happy Friday!

This was another long week for me: doctor`s appointments, gloomy days and a snow storm on Wednesday night that left us with no cable and internet, at least we have power though and we feel very lucky! I think we have had enough for these 5 days! I am looking forward to the weekend and to some fun activities with the kids!

First impressions: 5 differences between the US and Italy

Good morning friends, how are you? I hope you had a nice weekend. We did, we had some birthday parties to attend and we watched the Oscars on Sunday night, it is so nice to sit down on the couch sometimes!! This week started with a sick kid at home (who is feeling better now) and will progress with a snow storm on Wednesday evening, we will see how it goes, hopefully it will not be too bad, but they are already expecting a lot of snow (I always hope that they are mistaken!).
